Financial Controller Germany (vacaturenummer: 1827)

Our relation is a world wide fashion trade organization listed at the NYSE. They have a whole sale and retail channel for distribution of their brands. Their FSSC is located in the South-West of The Netherlands.

• The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the financial process of the German entities (Germany, Austria and Swiss), which contains recording of entries in the financial system till reporting for USGAAP purposes and German GAAP purposes.
• Also included are making sure the legal entities are in compliance with all legal and fiscal obligations applicable to Germany.
• You will be responsible for a team of 3 fte (ass controller, GL accountant, AP accountant)
• You are responsible for providing the management of accounting and financial reporting. In conjunction with Finance Leaders, determine and provide value added reporting metrics to assist with analysis of business.
• Maintaining and reconciling the G/L accounts on a daily basis.
• Month end closing entries to G/L and provide assistance to internal and external auditors as needed.
• Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures documented on Internal Controls Scorecard; specifically timely completion of account reconciliation.
• Responsible for all US GAAP and German GAAP general Accounting activities. More specifically, month end closing, adherence to internal controls scorecard, statutory tax reporting, and providing information to satisfy external auditing requirements and reviews of all financial statements, reports, analyses, general ledger account reconciliation, journal entries, etc. prior to their submission to upper management to ensure the highest levels of accuracy.
• Preparations of statutory financial statements in accordance with German GAAP
• Responsible to carry out ad-hoc projects

• H.E.A.O graduate in accounting
• Preferably related experience with the German tax regulations and local GAAP.
• This is a hands on position that requires the ideal candidate to have full-cycle accounting and month/year end close experience but also a broader scope than the entity itself as part of a listed company and working in a FSSC environment.
• Financial Management, uses accepted financial analysis tools to evaluate and create strategic choices and options; develops a consistent, logical approach for evaluating profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities.
• Perfect knowledge of English and German language, written and oral.
• Strong computer skills, including advanced use of Excel , Word, database applications, query software, Preferably: JBA, hyperion (Essbase) knowledge.
