Accounting en Controlling Manager (vacaturenummer: 1283)

For our client, one of the leading International Logistics Companies of the world based in Rotterdam we are looking for an Accounting en Controlling Manager.

• Responsible for leading the accounting and controlling team and managing the Netherlands staff linked to the accounting and controlling team
• Fully accountable and responsible for providing timely and accurate management information to local and regional management
• Fully accountable and responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are processed and recorded in accordance with local requirements and Finance Managers Manual
• Daily responsibility for accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and external (statutory) reporting and follow-up on the pay rolling
• Responsible for BCS and HFM reporting and ensure that all activities are reported in a controlled, timely and accurate manner
• Responsible for delivering consistent and accurate (rolling) forecasting, including Full Year Estimates, Budget and monthly forecasting in cooperation with the management team
• Manage the quarterly and year end book close process in BCS and HFM (upload and preparation of special forms), including delivery of audit package to external auditors
• Responsible for controlling job costing processes in the business, identify and contain potential financial risks in the business and conduct financial and business analysis such as client profitability, cost developments and business or investment proposals
• Assess monthly figures and ascertain any accruals (revenue or costs) needed to reflect an accurate position
• Ensure daily interface from operational to the finance systems and manage and control the error handling process
• Ensure proper control and reconciliation between operational systems and finance systems
• Maintain knowledge of local taxation, local GAP and legal requirements, and ensure compliance within the country
• Prepare and follow-up on statutory accounts, VAT returns, other local returns and coordination of CIT returns
• Ensure all procedures are kept up-to-date, and team is advised of any changes to working practices
• Ensure proper segregation of duties across the organization including periodical reviews and where necessary mitigating controls

• Several years of demonstrated financial management experience
• Minimum a bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related
• Experience in role as ‘Leader of Others’
